POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Places, and exchanges peripherally inserted central lines (PICC) and Midlines under the order of a physician. Performs other procedures related to PICC management including PICC removal, PICC declotting, dressing application/care and troubleshooting. Assesses and identifies patients for whom a PICC is indicated. Participates in performance improvement activities related to PICC practices and performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Associates, Bachelors or Masters degree in Nursing.
Experience: 2 years direct patient care in a med/surgery setting in acute care.
2 years of experience in infusion delivery.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota.
Demonstrates as the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The year when demonstration of competency is not required, a general review of CPR is required.
Certified Infusion RN (CRNI), and/or Vascular Access Board Certification (VA-BC) preferred.
Involves every other w/e schedules; working evesInserting PICC lines and central line maintenance
