Responsibilities Req ID: 50408 Provides assessment, treatment, and diagnostic evaluation of of patient with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and/or abnormalities. Performs diagnostic procedures to support treatment and care of the patient. Utilizes therapist driven protocol to assesses and treat patients under supervision of physician. Education Graduate of AMA approved program for Respiratory Care. CRT is required for hire, RRT preferred. RRT is required within one year of hire. Licensure by Minnesota Board of Medical Practice is required. ACLS certification is required within one year of hire. Qualification/Skills Experience One to two years previous critical care experience preferred Skills Ability to work with patients form adolescents to adults Demonstrate good communication skills and customer rapport Ability to work independently as well as part of team Possess the ability to prioritize tasks under fluctuating workloads and crisis and apply good organizational and critical thinking skills Display extensive knowledge of Human Anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, microbiology of the cardiopulmonary system with application through patient assessment and therapeutic interventions Knowledge of general therapeutic modalities and technology as well as ventilator management is necessary Experience in ABG puncture/analysis Additional ability to deal with difficult patients and obtain maximum effort when performing pulmonary function Can speak, write, understand and communicate in English Licensure/Certifications Credentialed by the NBRC as CRTT (required) Credentialed by the NBRC as RRT (preferred) Current licensure with the State Board of Medical Practice A temporary permit is available to applicants who meet all requirements for permanent licensure until final approval is granted by the Board of Medical practice (the temporary permit is valid from the date of approval until the next Board meeting at which a decision is made on the application) Current BLS certificate or internal BLS training upon hire ACLS preferred Work Schedule 36 hours per work or 72 hour per pay period.
