Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:This position will facilitate the successful functioning of the department through communication, working knowledge of departmental and hospital policy, and rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, and ancillary departments. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Completion of accredited Associate degree in Nursing. Completion of accredited baccalaureate program in nursing or completion of an accredited AD nursing program and a Bachelors degree in Nursing Education, Business, Health Sciences, Behavioral Science, Life Science or approved field OR currently enrolled in a healthcare related Baccalaureate degree program with an established date of completion preferred.

Experience:

Two years of clinical nursing experience required. Clinical experience in Oncology and Chemotherapy Infusion required. Two years experience in nursing leadership (charge nurse, supervisor, etc.) or leadership position outside of nursing required. OCN preferred or willing to obtain within one year of hire.

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:

  • Advanced problem solving skills and/or techniques.

  • Knowledge of principles of management and the change process.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and desire to develop effective working relationships within and outside departments supervised.

  • Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Licensure as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota. Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Certification in related clinical specialty strongly preferred.
