The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for the overall Supplier Quality.

The SQE works with the Supply Chain and Suppliers to continuously improve quality performance of key components (increase lifecycle, reduce scrap) by implementing process controls and develop quality assurance plans.

The SQE tracks data, identifies improvement projects, and manages cross functional implementation to improve performance of key components and suppliers.

A day on the job may include:

  • Manages assigned suppliers thru the review of supplier performance data, communication of supplier performance w/ supplier, driving improvements in supplier delivered quality, evaluation and validation of supplier proposed changes and supplier improvements.

  • Track and qualify or disqualify suppliers according to Wilson standard. Qualification audits as needed. Some travel will be required.

  • Daily support for issues arising in QC Incoming inspection, QC Audit, IPQC Audit, MRB and on the production lines

  • SCAR/INCR issuance to supplier, validate supplier 8D/ CAPA and verify effectiveness and closure

  • Supports NPI, designed part/assemblies' validation & supplier corrective actions (work closely w/ QCE NPI team for reliability test requirements)

  • Review component spec, identify critical dimension and/or check point per component material and create component test procedure & checklist

  • Review and validate Supplier outgoing QA/QC certificate of compliance (CoC) inspection report & PPAP

  • Identify sampling plan AQL % level

  • Manage MRB

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs at any given time. Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and/or sitting in tight spaces will be necessary

This job may be for you if you have:

  • BS degree (preferred Engineering or related field)

  • Strong computer skills are required including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)

  • Minimum of 2 yrs hands-on experience of supplier quality function in an organization, preferable in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledgeable of 8D problem solving and/or Corrective & Preventive Action Report

  • In-Process Quality Audit skills

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines

Extra Awesome:

  • Knowledgeable of the basic QC 7 tools, Cpk process capability, GR-R & DOE

  • Knowledgeable with PPAP/APQP process, Process Control Chart & FMEA
