Description

MITRE is seeking a Lead Geospatial System Engineer to assist our Sponsor in acquiring and implementing systems associated with moving, storing and analyzing data from sensors in the field. Position is full-time and on-site with the Sponsor in Springfield, VA.

Key Functions include:

  • Functional and Performance Requirements Decomposition

  • Trade Studies

  • Analysis of Alternatives

  • CONOPS Development

  • Modeling and Simulation

  • Mission Architectures

  • Statements of Work

  • Evaluation Criteria

  • Measures of Performance/Effectiveness

  • Sensor and Payload Performance

  • IT/Cloud Services and Technologies

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) subject matter expert

  • Extensive systems engineering background and/or formalSystem Engineering education

  • Broad understanding of the technologies andcapabilities of the entire GEOINT enterprise

  • In-depth knowledge of NGA segments / capabilities /initiatives (e.g., GIMS, Cedalion, ODS, ABI, SOM, GEOINT Broker, AAA, etc.)

  • In-depth knowledge as well as NRO overhead systems(particularly legacy and in-work SAR systems) and ancillary ground capabilities(e.g., M2C2, GPF, ECO, ETAS, eTPR, MTS, Sentient, etc.)

  • Understanding of our mission partners to include ODNI,USDI, and Combatant Commands

  • Excellent oral and written skills
