Role

In order to strenghthen our market growth and consulting practice, we are currently looking to hire one experienced Consultant within the database and platform specialism to join projects with high visibility for our major customers. In this role you will contribute to customer success by bringing Oracle product know-how and project expertise into the project. You enjoy working for and with customers and you are ready for continuous learning. You will report to the Practice Manager for platform & databases.

You will cover different role characteristics depending on the desired qualification. In other words you can start within Oracle Consulting as Principal Consultant or Technical Expert or Technology Architect based on your personal qualification.

  • Working as part of a practice team and towards to an utilization target

  • Strong project delivery experience as Technology Architect or Expert or Principal Consultant Oracle Access Management

o Delivering successful projects, working with the client to understand requirements, functionality and business processes

o Working closely across business units e.g. Sales and Support (Cross LoB)

  • Responsible for the technical infrastructure design, contribute the successful solution delivery

  • Advisory role in review an existing or proposed technical architecture, provide guidance on the implementation of Oracle technology

  • Contributing with Oracle Consulting Sales Team if required to create proposals and proof of concepts, project planning and project management

Main activities:

  • Defining the technical solution e.g. system availability/resilience, performance, manageability, capacity planning, security and assessments

  • Validate the technical requirements and map them to a feasible technical solution

  • Provide input to estimates, resource planning required and system capacity planning activity

  • Lead architectural discussions with clients around proposed solutions

  • Engage Work with senior client staff, from both a business and IT perspective, to understand and define their needs, and subsequently to define the solution and high-level architecture to meet these requirements

  • Provide technical leadership to the project's technical resources, which could include architects and product specialists in delivering a well designed and engineered solution that is integrated with the existing or defined IT architecture and services framework and meets clearly defined technical performance requirements

  • Provide technical input to the project management oversight of implementation of the technical infrastructure.

  • Provide input to release planning, phased deployment, and transition to support

  • Provide technical assurance of Test Strategies, and key design deliverables for System and Acceptance testing

  • Conduct system reviews/ health checks, including topology reviews, as part of the internal design assurance of Oracle design deliverables to validate the solution meets the agreed technical requirements

  • Lead the client and/or project team in the troubleshooting of technical issues related to the production installation

  • Act as the formal single point of authority for all technical issues relating to system design, intended operation and technical solution

  • The production of technical design documentation, and supporting the implementation, testing, and operation of the solution

  • Installing and configuring Oracle Software in High Availability Solutions

  • Data center solutions such as consolidation

  • Services on premise and in the cloud

  • Design/architect/deploy around the following technologies:

o Provisioning and role management solutions based on Oracle Identity Manager and its connectors.

o Web SSO infrastructures based on Oracle Access Manager and/or Oracle Weblogic Server.

o LDAP infrastructures based on Oracle Internet Directory (or any other LDAP directory server) and Oracle Virtual Directory.

o Enterprise SSO infrastructures based on Oracle eSSO suite.

o Web services security infrastructures based on Oracle Web Services Manager and/or WS-Security of Oracle Weblogic Server.

o Database encryption solutions based on Oracle Transparent Data Encryption.

o Database authentication services

o Segregation of duties and data access solutions based on Database Vault.

o Audit and compliance DB solutions based on Audit Vault.

  • This position provides support to the delivery of security projects in the area of Oracle IDM (Oracle Identity Management Suite), Oracle Database (DB features, DB Firewall, Database Vault, Audit Vault) and Oracle Weblogic security. This position is also responsible for providing technical support as required for infrastructure installation and high-level technical problem resolution(Core aspects – e.g. High availability architectures).

Qualifications

In-depth skills in one or more of the following areas are requested:

  • Knowledge of :

Oracle Cloud Services

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control and options

Oracle Access Management

Oracle Identity Management

Oracle Weblogic Server

Oracle Database encryption

Oracle Database authentication services

  • Experience in Identity and Access Management, including directory services, single sign on and provisioning would be an advantage (e.g. IBM Tivoli (TIM, TAM, Directory), Microsoft ForeFront/ILM/AD, Computer Associate, SailPoint)

  • Good experience in defining & implementation from conceptual solutions as Architect or Expert

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experiences

  • Interested in Technology subjects e.g. Virtualization, Cloud

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong problem solving, planning and self-management skills

  • Able to learn quickly and strongly self-motivated

  • Team player at Oracle and at the customer

  • Mobility within primarily Germany and Switzerland

  • Candidate should be located within Germany

  • Fluent German skills, both spoken and written

  • Good English skills, both spoken and written

An experienced consulting professional who has a broad understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.

May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
