Position Summary: The Director is the designated leader for a specific nursing unit. He/She is responsible for the patient population and assigned staff. The Director plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the unit activities. He/She provides direction, support and guidance to the assistant nurse managers and aids in their development both clinically and managerially. Twenty-four hour accountability. - Responsible and accountable for compliance with overall nursing practice standards, including those relating to other licensed and non-licensed care givers conduct and performance, within the specialty area (Reports to Department Director) - Responsible and accountable for compliance with standards during assigned shift including those relating to employee conduct and performance. (Reports to House Supervisor) - Uses established principles of delegation and exercises all supervisory authorities necessary to ensure his/her ability to successfully direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of optimal patient care during their assigned shift MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM 5 YEARS CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN AREA OF SPECIALTY OR RELATED CLINICAL FIELD; EVIDENCE OF EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE IN QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, SELF DIRECTED, EXCELLENT TIME MANAGEMENT AND PROBLEMS SOLVING SKILLS. EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: MINIMUM 5 YEARS CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN AREA OF SPECIALTY OR RELATED CLINICAL FIELD; CURRENT AHA BLS CERTIFICATION OR OBTAINED DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF ORIENTATION; CURRENT AHA ACLS CERTIFICATION OR OBTAINED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF DATE OF HIRE; CURRENT AHA PALS CERTIFICATION OR OBTAINED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF DATE OF HIRE; CURRENT TNCC CERTIFICATION OR OBTAINED WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF DATE OF HIRE.
