Preventative and repair maintenance on sand and gravel plant. Position oversees crew of 5 or fewer people on night shift.
This position is an entry level management position requiring the successful candidate to supervise a small crew, promote safety, perform assigned duties, delegate tasks, verify correct work procedures are followed, develop repair procedures, fabricate in steel, and solve problems with little direct supervision.
Accountable to perform all of the maintenance duties required by this position.
Maintain an excellent work/safety record with high standard of performance and production
Perform simple and intermediate type diagnosis repairs without constant supervision
Lead a maintenance/production workforce of less than 5 reports.
Basic fabrication including utilizing a welder and torch.
Perform thorough preventative maintenance on all equipment
Maintain a positive attitude
Able to logically work through problems to solution
Able to read and write and communicate effectively
Able to work flexible work schedule
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
This position will supervise up to 5 direct reports.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry
Some exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.

Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
Ability to operate hand controls with both hands
Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet
Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
Ability to use vibration tools
Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
Ability to work in cramped quarters
Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 100 feet
Vision: Normal depth perception, vision and ability to distinguish color
3 years’ experience in related heavy duty maintenance job or equivalent combination of training and experience
Able to work with little supervision.
Able to work in a variety of settings including at height, in tight spaces and awkward positions.
Lift approximately 75 lbs., to carry parts and tools to all areas of the plant.
Climb as high as 75 feet from the ground on a ladder.
Must be able to work as much as 14 hours in one day and as many as 75 hours in a six day week.
Work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures of: heat, cold, dust, wet and dry. Noise levels up to 90 dbs.
Demonstrated proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding, MIG a plus
Must be able to identify and order basic parts (bearings, idlers, screens, pulleys)
Must be able to field lay out and fabricate in steel
Must be able to work flexible hours
Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, safety reflective vest, full body harness, welding hood.
Valid Driver’s License
Dependable and predicable attendance is required
Must provide own set of tools
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position on 2nd shift operations. This position regularly requires night shift hours and weekend work.
