As a Product Manager working on the Therapeutic Solutions, Respiratory team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by working alongside a strong team to lead business execution and global product development for the Spiration Valve System, a recently approved device for the treatment of severe emphysema. In a typical day, you will:
Quantify and qualify global market opportunities for assigned product lines including addressable market size, reimbursement landscapes and pricing strategies.
Execute large scale primary research projects.
Analyze secondary market reports.
Partner with global affiliates to quantify and qualify market opportunities in ex US regions.
Develop robust market, P&L and product forecasting models.
Foster strong and ongoing relationships with HCP customers that allows for collection of field intelligence (user needs, market trends).
Lead in the creation of value propositions, positioning for single products and portfolios of products.
Through interdependent partnering with Research and Product Development teams, ensure voice-of-customer is understood and aligned with product design and functionality.
Coordinate with Development project teams in the evaluation of prototypes from benchtop through clinical testing.
Lead or co-lead external Advisory Boards.
Ensure all packaging and labeling clearly articulates appropriate claims, instructions and other information as necessary to meet marketing and compliance requirements.
Coordinate training and support for upstream and downstream affiliates as needed during new product launches.
Develop launch packages that provide validated and approved product information that can be used in affiliate launch materials.
Maintain a strong pulse on market dynamics through participation in medical and industry conventions, review of clinical journals and HCP interactions.
Support and participate in development and implementation of Olympus affiliate business and strategic planning initiatives.
Liaison between affiliates and ORA Operations and Customer Service to develop and manage product demand and order fulfilment.
Partner with Finance to manage budget and revenue expectations.
Effectively influence and collaborate with Olympus affiliates and liaisons in the full scope of upstream marketing activities.
Work with Olympus affiliates and outside consultants to develop successful reimbursement strategies.
Work within the guidelines of the Olympus compliance programs when interacting with HCP’s.
Act as a role model for the company demonstrating professionalism and impeccable ethics.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree in business, economics, marketing, engineering or related field required. MBA or other advanced degree also optimal.
3+ years progressively responsible related experience required.
2+ years recent experience as a Product Manager in medical device or life sciences industry also required. Respiratory product experience preferred, or 2+ years experience in a Pharmaceutical setting with specific Therapeutic Respiratory drugs.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Superior writing, composition, English grammar skills a must.
Well-developed verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to influence.
A proven record of consistently following through on commitments.
Maintains and communicates realistic schedules and meets or beats deadlines.
Experience incorporating pricing models, forecasts, strategies and programs that achieve the envisioned results.
Knowledge of the Company products and its competitive landscape such as device regulations that govern commercial activity.
Proven problem solving and project management skills in a product management role.

Exceptionally team focused and actively contributes to a positive and innovative work environment.

Ability to work overtime, including evenings on occasion.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% to visit customers, Olympus business sites, and attend trade shows and events.

The Product Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of pre-commercial product and market development of novel therapeutic respiratory devices including ancillary components such an imaging analysis systems that will be integrated with the devices. Roles and responsibilities include voice of customer research, competitive landscaping, solution development, forecasting and modelling, global launch strategy and support. Internal interfacing with management across functions including clinical and regulatory. Externally, the incumbent will be expected to interface regularly with the downstream marketing teams at Olympus affiliates, professional customers, and outside vendors to support and drive the business.
