Do you have experience of working as a Infrastructure Solution / Technical Architect on complex IT Infrastructure Transformation Programmes?

Our client (a financial services company) is looking for:

  • a strong infrastructure technical / solution architect

  • with experience of designing target infrastructure end states and migration planning

  • and has experience of data centre migration and networks

Following on from the sale of one its businesses, a programme has been initiated by our client to work on the design / migration planning phase for the separation and migration of the impacted systems, infrastructure and networks from its current IT estate.

The scope of the separation impacts core business systems, shared support systems, data centre migration, telephony, Active Directory Platform, hosting and worktop / desktop refresh.

Whilst the initial scope of the engagement is for 3 months to complete the design of the target state and migration approach, there is scope to extend this role to lead aspects of the subsequent migration once the initial phases are completed.

Note: this role is required to be on site approx. 3 days a week, with the other days from home. This is normally Tuesday to Thursday but may need to be flexible. Expenses will be paid for hotels and food when based on client site for those not in a position to commute.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 10 years + IT Infrastructure Experience - hands-on technical infrastructure and network expertise gained in large / complex IT corporate estates with previous experience of designing target infrastructure states and migration

  • IT Transformation Experience - full lifecycle experience of complex IT infrastructure transformations / migrations

  • Operating Style - self-starter, comfortable operating autonomously and demonstrating leadership and technical credibility whilst working with project teams and technical SMEs. Whilst not personally responsible for delivery of the solution, the successful candidate will liaise with relevant Programme/Project Managers (including offshore providers) to help facilitate delivery execution.

Experience of IT infrastructure separation / migration following corporate sale would be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Location: South Coast - 3 days on client site, 2 days WFH

Length of role: 3 months initially but plenty of opportunity up to 12 months

Start Date: Late Feb / Early March

Advertised Rate: £ comp + expenses for hotels
