Georgia Employer RESIDENT MEDICATION AIDE/CMA/MED TECH (FT/PT/PRN)- in Smyrna, Georgia
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:Under direction and supervision of a licensed nurse, the Resident Medication Aide provides professional, direct care to residents, administers medications, and assists in maintaining a positive physical, social, emotional and spiritual environment for all residents. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION-High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION-State approved training and certification for Medication Administration as required by state law (ex. CertifiedMedication Aide-CMA).-Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) with completion of training program for certification, required.-Current CPR and First Aid certification as required per state regulations.EXPERIENCE-Previous experience in a geriatric setting is preferred.SPECIAL SKILLS-Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in routine daily care to maintain the health and comfort of elderly and disabled residents.-Basic understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques is required.OTHER-Exemplary written and oral communication skills.-Excellent customer service, organization, and time management skills.-Must be 18 years of age or older.-Demonstrated patience, tact, professionalism, and enthusiasm for working with elderly and disabled populations.-Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Fluency in other languages is helpful.
