What you will do As the Monitoring and Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating performance monitoring into our applications and providing dashboards to report performance. You will collaborate with developers to promote the concept of performance engineering during all phases of the SDLC to detect and correct performance issues earlier in the lifecycle, and document performance findings and recommendations. You will profile application performance from end-user perspective to inventory performance concerns and suggest tuning opportunities across the application stack, and assess gaps in as-is monitoring tool capabilities and recommend tools to augment or replace. Additionally, you will monitor application performance during performance tests or production usage with an APM and other monitoring tools to isolate the fault domain, dive deep into application code, and identify root cause of performance issues, as well as utilize static code and dynamic code analysis to identify performance and maintenance concerns. What you need At least 2 years' hands-on experience with performance tuning, diagnostic or monitoring At least 1 year of hands-on design/development experience with languages such as Python, SQL, PowerShell, etc. At least 6 months' of hands-on debugging web applications Experience with Linux, Windows, Virtualization, AWS Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (such as Foglight, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, SCOM, etc.) Experience with web servers and application stacks such as IIS, Tomcat, Nginx, Apache Experience with configuration management tool (Cloudformation, Ansible, Chef) Release software such as Ansible, Octopus Deploy, custom scripts Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Would be nice Experience with collaboration systems (Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow) Some understanding/experience of containerization services (Docker) Have Purpose.
