We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Shopping Experience team for Amazon's rapidly growing grocery services including Amazon Fresh and Prime Now. In this role you will work closely with product managers and engineering leaders to derive quantitative insights about how customers navigate our products, identify opportunities for improvement, and shape strategic recommendations. A successful candidate will have excellent statistical and analytical abilities, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions, and have the ability to work with technology, product development, and business teams. They will have passion for data and analytics, be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, and driven by a desire to innovate Amazon's approach to this space. Key Responsibilities - Develop new and innovative analyses to inform product strategy and design. This analysis will determine approach and roadmap for key strategic initiatives. - Analyze relevant business information, and uncover trends and correlations to develop insights that can materially improve our product and strategy decisions. - Build new and improving existing data marts where data from various grocery businesses is integrated to help the business extract customer behavior insights. - Develop clear communications for recommended actions. - Establish new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for tracking and reporting on progress of initiatives. Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in math, finance, engineering, statistics, or related discipline is required. - 5+ years hands on analytics work experience with proven quantitative orientation. - Proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases. - Fluency in R, Python or a similar modeling language, and proficiency in SQL - Strong skills in Excel as well as other data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, QuickSight, etc. - Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively develop and communicate clear, thoughtful, and comprehensive analyses. - Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload and roadmaps - Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data. Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or a related discipline. - Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift. - Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools.
