In this role, the technical product manager is responsible for developing data products platform to empower PayPal's Risk and Customer Operations in creating effortless customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Support PayPal's Risk and Customer Operations team by providing creative solve to the business needs in the form of data products. Data products include data instrumentation, variables’ calculation, analytical insights, predictive scores from machine learning.

  • Work with data architects, data engineers, and data scientists in the development of data products. The typical process starts with initial ideation and includes analysis/research, prototyping, requirement documentation, design, development, QA, deployment and UAT.

  • Bridge business users and the technology organizations. Lead collaborations and discussions among cross-functional teams for effective solution-building or issue-resolutions.

  • Leverage strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking capabilities, and in-depth understanding of PayPal’s data to collaborate with business users, data engineers, and data scientists. Brainstorm, strategize the “right” data products, and document the technical requirements.

  • Influence, support and contribute to the development of PayPal’s data strategies.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience with bachelor’s degree OR 5+ years of experience with a Graduate degree.

  • An ideal candidate should have a successful track record as either a business/data analyst or a data (warehouse) specialist, preferable in Financial Services industry

  • Must have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of database principles and SQL.

  • Experience working with large databases and Data Analysis.

  • Hands-on experiences with Teradata, Hadoop, R, Python, and data science are strong plus.

Other Important Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking – preferable experience in financial industry.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentations skills.

  • Passionate about providing innovative data solutions.

  • Creative problem solver in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be a team player and enjoy collaborations with cross-functional teams.
