The Business Development Director will play a vital role in the organization by accelerating Proofpoint’s partnerships and strategic alliances.
This senior individual contributor role will evaluate and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, and technology alliances.
This role will work with sales and product marketing teams both internally and alongside strategic and alliance partners to accomplish the following:
Drive field sales and marketing engagement for joint partner solutions
Lead joint Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) to accelerate and constantly improve upon sales and marketing engagement
Help plan and execute joint marketing campaigns as well as events
Work closely with sales and product management teams both internally and with partners to help align our product roadmaps.
Strategically align sales and marketing go-to-market strategies and to increase joint engagement.
Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives, as well as define help define vision strategies and tactics.
Demonstrated skills to create and prepare complex alliance proposals and go-to-market agreements, to include presentations and negotiating large scale projects.
Provide status reports as needed, including project status and adherence to key performance indicators and revenue targets.
7+ years’ experience in a Business Development function, ideally with a strong focus in technology and/or strategic alliance partnerships.
Experience working with security products and understanding of SaaS business model preferred.
Demonstrated experience establishing sales strategies and selling to an annual sales forecast.
Demonstrated experience managing proposal efforts, as well as ability to write proficiently to outline and effectively market Company capabilities
Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills and the ability to master complex systems and topics quickly
Demonstrated effective group presentation skills
Proven ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, set goals and objectives and develop realistic action plans
Strong attention to detail
Will require 30-50% travel
