Ethos Veterinary Health Veterinary Technician - Patient Care in San Diego, California

Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant for our Patient Care Department/Intermediate Care Ward. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week and will include Saturday or Sunday. About the Job: As a Vet Tech in the Patient Care department you will be responsible for:

  • Perform animal observations; provide care and husbandry services.

  • Observe, record, and report atypical findings of the environment and animal's health.

  • Handle, restrain, and provide care for all species of hospitalized patients, including blood draws and IVC placement.

  • Calculate drug doses and administer hourly treatments

  • Perform other duties as directed by management, such as triaging incoming emergencies, etc.

About You:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant in an animal hospital setting required. Recent graduates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology will be considered.

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring is preferred.

  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required

  • RVT or VTS preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.

  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

  • Passion for providing the highest quality in patient care.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
