Qualcomms Snapdragon SoCs enable smartphones and other devices with high performance and long battery life. Their long battery life is built on industry leading power management architectures.

As a member of the Power Architecture and Systems Team you will help create the architecture for upcoming Snapdragon SoCs. You will ensure that the architecture meets the requirements for power and resource management while taking into account other requirements such as performance and cost. Snapdragon SoCs provide high levels of integration and rich functionality. This makes developing and evolving the best architecture a challenging task. You will work with engineers across a range of disciplines (e.g. hardware, software and systems) and technologies (e.g. advanced CPUs, Hexagon DSPs, Adreno GPUs, AR/VR, ML/AI, 5G modems, Wireless LAN, GPS, low power audio, and low power sensors). And you will have the opportunity, by improving battery life, to improve the user experience on the next generation of smartphones and other devices powered by Snapdragon SoCs.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in defining and communicating the architecture for power and resource management for Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs.

  • Find solutions to system level power and resource management problems.

  • Work with hardware designers and systems engineers to understand the hardware design and gather software requirements.

  • Influence the hardware design to improve power consumption or simplify the power and resource management software.

  • Work with software teams implementing the power and resource management software to understand design challenges, provide guidance, and ensure that the implementation matches the architecture.

  • Work with software teams implementing modules that are clients of the power and resource management software to gather requirements and provide guidance.

  • Work with software teams to identify and fix performance bottlenecks that increase power consumption.

  • Design tools to identify and debug power consumption issues on development platforms and commercial devices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 1+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+yrs experience in embedded software development or mobile devices

  • Experience programming with at least one programming language like C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

  • Ability to approach problems at a system levelOne or more of the following:- Device driver or board support package (BSP) knowledge or development experience- Experience with one or more RTOSs- Experience in 4G and/or 5G modem technologies- Understanding of ARM processor architectures- Experience with power optimization

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
