TCI America REAGENT FIELD SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER - SW REGION in San Diego, California

Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (TCI) is a leading worldwide manufacturer of specialty organic chemicals founded in Tokyo in 1946. TCI provides organic laboratory chemicals as well as pharmaceutical, cosmetic and functional materials. Nearly 70 years of synthesis experience and multi-purpose manufacturing plants enable TCI to offer more than 28,000 products and meet customer needs of custom synthesis. 1/3 of 28,000 products are unique to TCI and more than 1,000 new products are launched each year. TCI has established overseas plants in North America, Europe, China and India to deliver products worldwide more promptly.

This position is responsible for managing sales activity, new business development and revenue generation of TCI-America?s organic chemical products. In addition, the position manages and participates in the marketing, market planning, sales forecasting and technical development of products of TCI America?s products and services. This position is responsible for utilizing and maintaining sales data in SAP and SFA. Position is based in San Diego, California.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop sales and marketing proposals for customers for technical products and services by:

? Determining market strategies & goals for each product

? Obtaining data & information for sales analysis and statistical data reports

? Researching and developing lists of potential customers \

? Doing market research to determine customer needs

? Evaluating product marketability in terms of customers? technical needs

? Following up on sales leads and developing leads

? Maintaining understanding of activities, industry trends, government regulations & technical developments as they pertain to target markets.

Establishing & maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales Participate in sales forecasting and planning by:

? Researching, developing & maintaining long & short range sales goal

? Analyzing sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor customer?s preferences/ prepare and periodic sales reports.

? Negotiating pricing for custom synthesis bulk projects to be manufactured at TCI-A and TCI.

? Coordinate with TCI regarding sales potential or sales issues related to custom projects

? Visiting existing and potential customers to maintain/develop business relationships and ascertain need

? Reviewing bulk inquiries and bulk quotations ? Preparing and scheduling advertising and promotion

? Selecting and preparing for attendance at vendor and trade shows

? Representing company at trade association meetings, exhibitions, symposiums and vendor and vendor shows to promote sales.

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor?s degree from accredited four-year college or university in chemistry, bio-chemistry, or organic chemistry, three years outside reagent sales and marketing experience, or a combination of education and experience. Masters or PhD degree desirable.

Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to fully understand the SAP system software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software and Outlook email program.
