Gemini Energy Services, A Tetra Tech Division

is seeking an

On-Site Mechanical/Electrical Technician

for the research, development, creating and testing of proprietary components present at a nearby facility. Qualified candidates will be responsible for basic AC/DC theory and electrical troubleshooting. Basic mechanical/hydraulic experience is required for mechanical operation of CNC lathe, mill, welding, plasma cutting and composite experience to prep, sand and epoxy. Aviation, Wind, Solar, Crane and other skilled Technicians are encouraged to apply. Daily activities include testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components. The Technician will assist in reporting and other site duties as required.

This is a local position. You must be willing to work up to 60 hours per week, as needed, to meet project schedules. Qualified candidates must be able to consistently maintain, troubleshoot, and communicate with site supervisors on the details, function and condition of the equipment. Documentation and computer skills will be required to track the condition, testing, results and other research methods.

  • Familiarity with parts and components of complex machinery and engines

  • Basic AC/DC theory, familiarity withElectricity and Electronics

  • Familiarity with composite prepreg lay-up or repair including vacuum bag lamination, mixing epoxy, resin, hardener, experience with carbon fiber preferred

  • Familiar with electronics, read and comprehend detailed engineering drawings, manuals and schematics

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions, identify problems and determine appropriate solutions

  • Ability to accurately enter all information relating to Preventive and Corrective activity in the Maintenance Management System

  • Familiarity with Voltage Testers, Multimeters, Amp Clamps,, Voltage Test Procedures, Lock Out Tag Out, Electric Static Discharge (ESD), Hydraulics,,, Fasteners, Torqueing, Tool and hand tools, power tools, machine tools, jacks, hoists, pumps, hoses, compressors, wiring, CNC equipment (lathes, mills, waterjet, laser, etc.) preferred, composite equipment

  • Attention to Detail must follow project requirements and instructions with due attention

  • Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Proven track record in EHS

  • Knowledge of the handling and disposal of hazardous waste, use of tools, equipment, supplies and other site materials

  • Ability to communicate with management, technicians, site personnel to test and create equipment, escalate issues and report status, generate reports

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions



  • Electrical/mechanical experience

  • 1 year minimum, 3years preferred

  • Technical degree or a combination of technical training certifications and work experience

  • High school or equivalent

  • Preferred Education - Additional post-secondary degree or graduated training in heavy equipment mechanics and maintenance

  • Must have current driver’s license and clean DMV record (within last 3 years) and ability to operate service trucks as required

  • Must have clean criminal background

  • Current valid Driver's License with less than 3 moving violations in past 3 years

  • Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen

  • Able to travel to other US locations, willing to travel for up to 6 weeks at a time.


Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting at least 40 lbs.

  • Capable of bending, twisting and lifting items over head


Certifications: (please upload)

  • NFPA 70e electrical training

  • OSHA 10 Hour Safety Course completion

  • Tower Rescue / Competent Climber Certification or similar

  • Wind Turbine commissioning or maintenance experience

  • Forklift & Boom lift certified operator

  • First Aid / CPR
