AECOM Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor in San Diego, California

United States of America - California, Oakland

Job Summary

The West Region Environmental business line is seeking an Environmental, Health + Safety Auditor for project work throughout the West Coast.

This position could be based in any main AECOM offices in the region and will require travel as needed.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Conduct EHS compliance, management system and Process Safety Management audits.

  • Develop effective business proposals for providing completive, high value EHS auditing services

  • Plan, participate, and lead EHS audits.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training to industrial clients.

  • Provide mentoring, guidance and coaching to new or less experienced staff.

  • Build and maintain effective client relationships.

  • Manage multiple complex projects within scope, budget, quality criteria and schedule.

  • Provide detailed regulatory interpretation of EHS laws and regulations to our clients.

  • Maintaining knowledge of current and emerging USEPA, OSHA, and state EHS regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in engineering, physical sciences, safety, or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Previous experience in regulatory compliance audits and fieldwork.

  • Ability to travel 50% to 80%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in engineering, physical sciences, safety, or related field

  • 10 years of EHS experience in a consulting, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or refining industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a consulting, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or refining industry

  • Experience in managing EHS programs, compliance audits or compliance program evaluations

  • Professional certification (CPEA, PE, CSP, CIH, or other equivalent certification)

  • Experience with ISO/RC 14001, and ISO 45001
