National University Director of HR Operations in San Diego, California
The Director of HR Operations will have the ability to apply a broad understanding of talent management to create an integrated HR systems, technology, and processes solution. This individual will be a key member of the HR leadership team, and will play a critical role in ensuring the development of an HR function that enables the strategy of the institution. This includes leveraging technology to enable greater focus of resources on value creation activities that are aligned with the institutions mission.
This individual will provide a sustainable global HR platform and will lead change and efficiency through process mapping, simplification, and automation. He/she will be a hands-on, process and metric driven leader with a creative and strategic mind. He/she must also be proactive and capable of suggesting and effectively introducing HR practices that are aligned with the objectives of the National University System of higher education. He/she will be ?ahead of the curve? and agile in anticipating and responding to both tactical as well as strategic HR needs that help National University scale and ensure superior organizational performance.
Develop and deliver a vision for HR systems, technology and processes to achieve best in class performance.
Utilize metrics and analytics to improve HR and business decision-making.
Act as an internal consultant to lead change through process mapping, simplification, standardization and the development of standard operating procedures for Human Resources.
Provide direction and leadership for HR Service Center employees and cultivate a learning organization that promotes a culture of customer service and continuous improvement. In addition, the Director is responsible for implementing appropriate business processes and internal controls, developing collaborative relations with other HR teams, company leaders and employees and fostering a positive, trustworthy reputation for the HR organization.
Lead the design, integration and delivery of all data entry and processing to assure data integrity for all Human Resources services and transactions.
Coordinates transfer of information between Payroll, Finance, Student Systems and Academics to support all transactional activity throughout the organization.
Diagnose business and HR needs to design and deliver technology-enabled, systems and processes.
Optimize existing HRIS capabilities, Oracle PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, Jazz HR, and other HR systems
Provide guidance regarding the utilization and integration of Human Resource?s system?s, works with IT to ensure that HRIS has the necessary functionality and is meeting user needs.
Manage, plan, and set customer service objectives and metrics for service delivery and transactional processing.
Seek, identify, and share HR best practices throughout the HR organization.
Act as a change agent and promote innovation and continual improvement.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local legislation reporting requirements.
Review and analyze the implementation of HR programs, policies, plans, systems and processes.
Develop and monitor activities of the HR Service Center team, ensuring compliance, quality, efficiency and accuracy of information, data and HR system reporting and responses.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of key HR processes, including workflows, process and procedure documentation, which enable a collaborative relationship with employees, HR Business Partners, and Knowledge Centers.
Forecast activity, plan work and ensure resources are available to meet established Service Level Agreements.
Ensure preparation and compliance for internal and external audits.
Education & Experience
Bachelor?s degree, preferably in Human Resources or related area, or an equivalent of education and experience.
15+ years of experience in HR, Consulting, and Business Management.
10 - 15 years of Multi-disciplinary knowledge of Human Resources systems, technology and processes allied with best in class HR.
5 - 7 years of HR or related leadership experience.
Experience and proven success in leading cultural change, examining operations to develop and implement fit for purpose, technology-enabled systems and processes.
Experience with vendor selection and vendor management.
ERP, Higher Education systems experience preferred

Internal or professional services consulting experience allied with leadership of HR services team.
