Actuarial Analyst III
Preferred Locations: Indianapolis, IN; Mason, OH; Atlanta, GA; Virginia Beach, VA; St. Louis, MO; Louisville, KY; Pewaukee, WI; or Richmond, VA
This position is for the Actuarial Large Group Strategy Team, which develops pricing strategies and provides actuarial and financial strategy support to the Large Group Segment. You will be expected to independently design and complete complex projects, and deliver recommendations to business units and Finance/Actuarial teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies.
Help develop and support Large Group strategies for fully insured and self-insured business.
Lead and complete ad hoc projects supporting enterprise pricing strategies and financial analysis.
Provide leadership and support for recurring reports.
Analyze and interpret financial results.
Support the development of the new Large Group rating system.
Better connect Large Group pricing with the forecast.
Communicate with Large Group segment team, local Underwriting, Finance/Actuarial leadership and local Actuarial pricing teams.
Mentor other analyst on the team.
Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.
Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (e.g. MS Word; MS Excel; MS Outlook; MS PowerPoint) preferred.
Health insurance experience highly desired.
Health insurance pricing experience highly desired.
Large group pricing experience preferred.
