Job Summary

As a part of KUED’s dynamic Marketing Department, the Marketing Account Manager & Copywriter will help develop and implement a wide array of marketing and branding strategies for the station across all platforms. The Marketing Account Manager & Copywriter will conceptualize and write advertising copy and support the production, delivery, and distribution of marketing assets. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities

PROJECTMANAGEMENT

1.Manage project flow within the Marketing Department; marketing activity includes content creation and campaigns for broadcast/on-air, print, website/digital and community outreach

2.Develop, implement and manage systems and tools to facilitate project flow

3.Work with various internal departments, including Production, Development and Digital Media to ensure timely, on-brand delivery of campaigns and campaign assets

4.Ensure consistent branding implementation across all station activity

5.Compile project reports and manage asset storage and organization; track effectiveness of each marketing campaign through data analysis and work to improve future campaigns

COPYWRITER

1.Write and produce communication tools, including boilerplate and advertising copy, program descriptions, website content, monthly program guide and other copywriting needs as assigned

2.Proofread and edit various materials as needed

MANAGEINTER-DEPARTMENTALRELATIONSHIPS

1.Consult with internal departments to determine promotional needs and work with Director of Marketing to develop marketing strategies and/or individual projects to meet those needs

2.Serve as primary communication channel liaison between Marketing and internal departments

3.Collaborate with graphic designer and production manager to create concepts for each project and write advertising copy to support each concept

4.Keep projects on track in terms of schedule and budget

5.Act on behalf of Director of Marketing when she is absent or unavailable

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business, communication, English or related field, plus three years professional experience in marketing, advertising, copywriting, directing publication projects or equivalency. Demonstrated ability to develop effective print and broadcast media campaigns. Must possess excellent grammar, proofreading, human relation and effective communication skills.

•3-5 years professional experience in marketing, advertising, copywriting, or equivalency

•Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective print and broadcast media campaigns

•Proactive project management skills

•Hard-working and dependable, ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including outstanding grammar, writing, editing, and proofreading skills

•Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working collaboratively with a wide range of partners

•Detail-oriented and well organized

•Work nights or weekends as necessary to attend events and activities

Preferences

•Previous experience working in a marketing role for television or radio, and/or in an account management role in an agency setting is ideal, but not essential

•Strong branding inclination and keen marketing eye

•Basic graphic design knowledge preferred (using Adobe Creative Suite)
