We have an immediate need for an entry-level Applications Engineer who will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates by analyzing proposals and other requirements, who will research, collect, and report information on the ability and capacity of water and wastewater treatment equipment, and who will assist in the design and development of equipment and systems, and assist in the redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of the customer. Essential Job Functions Specification review and interpretation. Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications and related documents. Compute costs and identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, specifications, and related documents. Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Provide equipment functionality and capability reports and act as a technical liaison to the sales team. Document preparation, maintenance, and review including technical drawings and P&ID's. Budget proposal preparation. Interpretation of basic project related calculations. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Maintain technical knowledge of WesTech products by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent work experience. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, meet with customers and conduct technical sales presentations Knowledge of or experience providing superior customer service to internal and external customers. Strong math skills, especially geometry and trigonometry. Detail oriented and well organized with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills. Excellent problem solving skills and analytical skills. Ability to follow through on projects. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mining, or Chemical Engineering Pass on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Experience presenting to small and large groups in a public forum Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Pro-E Knowledge of or experience in an sales environment Knowledge or of experience working with steel construction Physical Requirements Ability to sit at workstation using computer-phone.
