There's a career-building opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join an innovative Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance company in a full-time role in the Saint Paul, Minnesota area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers you great long-term potential and a strong compensation and benefits package. This Senior Accountant role is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Major responsibilities

  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and SOX testing with internal and external auditors

  • Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Assemble monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

  • Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

Requirements

  • Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Skilled at time management

  • Deep understanding of non-profit fund accounting

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

  • US GAAP experience
