MCCA Accounting Manager in Saint Paul, Minnesota

ACCOUNTING MANAGER aka multi-tasking juggler with a knack for systems improvement and implementation needed. The position is with two healthcare trade associations who have recently celebrated their 50th and 100th anniversaries. The organizations are mature, stable and committed to updating the resources with which we work. We are nearing the end of a year-long implementation of Nimble User, our new association management system. This database, which is built on the Salesforce platform, touches almost every aspect of our work. You are meant for this role if you have previous Nimble User experience and a step ahead of other candidates if you have worked with Salesforce. Our 2020 workplan includes implementation of new payroll system and identification of new general ledger and payables tools. Timing for general ledger and payables systems implementation will depend on how efficient we become at adopting new systems. You are also meant for this role if you love process improvement! As accounting manager, you will report to the CFO and lead the accounting team of a senior accountant and two bookkeepers. You will be responsible for: Daily operations of the accounting department Cash flow forecasting and management Preparation for the annual audit and IRS filings Maintaining strong internal controls The accounting is an interesting mix of for-profit and not-for-profit work. The trade associations are discrete 501(c)(6) nonprofits. One of these associations has Federal fixed-price contracts. In addition, we have a 501(c)(3) foundation which manages private grants, two for-profit group purchasing organizations, and a taxable subsidiary that provides administrative services.
