Computer Experience Required OverviewSchedule and pre-register patients for appointments in Imaging Services areas Radiology, Ultrasound, Angiograms, Diagnostic Exams, and GI Lab. Responsible for receptionist duties including greeting patients, directing phone calls, working up requisitions and assisting physicians in locating films. The office assistant also files reports and film jackets, faxes reports and pulls films from big file and archives.QUALIFICATIONS: Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Company . That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Licensure:Experience: Previous experience in computer data entry with good mathematical aptitude required.Certifications:Other: Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance programs required. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills, and be able to communicate effectively with adult and geriatric patients. ResponsibilitiesSafety/Risk Managementa. Handles all incoming calls appropriately and promptlyb. Enters correct information in computer, order correct exam. Checks for misspellings or duplicated patient information.c. Respects at all times patient confidentiality and uses discretion when discussing patient matters.d. Follows policy/procedure for incident reports.Coordination of Servicesa. Correctly schedules patients in appropriate rooms, time slots, admitting type, coordinating staff and resources.b. Works up requisitions for all patient types thoroughly. Pulls film jacket and comparison films when necessary.c. Alerts specific areas of patient needs, arrival times and canceled exams.Complex Aspectsa. Schedules appointment times, obtains accurate diagnosis and demographics, screens for insurance information.b. Verifies all schedules with scheduling system and distributes to all areas.c. Reschedules patient appointments as needed.d. Uses good judgement and maintains dignified manner in handling problems or complaints.e. Sorts and distributes reports to proper place, mailings or report card.f. Able to fax documents. Digitize and copy films when needed.g. Handles incoming and outgoing mail.Primary Aspectsa. Direct phone calls, page staff, take messages, use voice mail properly.b. Greet patients and enter all information correctly into computer system.c. Files film jackets away properly daily, i.e. day file, sign out films that are returned.d. Keep patients report cards and film jackets current and in proper place. Also in working condition.e. Alters routine when necessary to accommodate need at present time.f. Familiar with and capable of initiating downtime procedures when necessary.
