The HR Services Representative is the entry-level job into the human resources job family. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of support and administrative activities in employee communications, compensation, benefits, employment services, learning services, employee relations and related areas. Responsible for primary administrative support of day-to-day Human Resources operations with responsibilities including assisting employees and public with human resources information and interpretation of policies and procedures, benefits interpretation and administration, assisting public with employment application intake, answering telephones, and greeting and directing customers. Responds to inquiries relating to the ongoing functions of the Human Resource department and assists with department related projects.

Job Description Details:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two years of administrative customer service experience required.

  • Requires general understanding of Human Resource administration, general business operations, administrative clerical operations and working knowledge of business machines.

  • Intermediate skills in computer technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet web-based applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with employees at all levels and the general public, to maintain confidentiality in daily operations, to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Understands the medical center’s employee benefits programs in sufficient depth and breadth to assist employees with eligibility, plan features, and problem resolution.

  • Maintains job description library for open positions. Assists job candidates, both internal and external, in completing job application and assist employment staff with follow-up duties as requested.

  • Assists employees with location and interpretation of policies via Intranet.

  • Answers telephones and greets and directs customers in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Assists with department related projects as requested.
