DescriptionThe successful Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the team tasked with the upkeep of the facilities and equipment at the nursery, EPS plant and offices while minimizing the impact on production. iThe Manager also will develop and maintain outside vendor and service provider relationships in order to produce the supplies and/ or contractors needed to complete the upkeep and projects with the established budget. iThe manager will lead in new construction and/or modification of existing equipment and properties. Key responsibilities include insuring all work is performed in accordance with safety policies and regulations as well as legal regulations surrounding workplace safety.RequirementsSUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:i Responsible for managing a team of 5-7 Maintenance Techs with varying specialtiesi Assign, maintain and coordinate all daily repair work orders, including all emergency requested worki Establish, evaluate and maintain the preventative maintenance programsii Organize maintenance shop, keeping inventory iof equipment and supplies (just enough, just in time)i Responsible for iinspecting progress of assigned work ordersi Maintain awareness of the physical condition of the property and immediately correct unsafe conditionsi Perform light duty/ and or limited maintenance irepairs for the nursery and Corp/EPS facilitiesi Provide advisory assistance in regard to equipment and facility CapXi Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance , service request (received and completed ), expenditures andiiiiiiiiistatus of work in progressi Act as a role model, working alongside crew members, and demonstrate a positive work ethic.i Ensure work projects are completed satisfactorily and safe working conditions are maintained at all times.ii Develop and maintain a strong sense of teamwork among the crew members.i Plan learning time/ activities anticipated for down time. Be flexible and willing to change daily routine to adjust to learning iiiiiiiiiiiopportunities when unanticipated delays.i Willingness to travel as required by companyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:i High School diploma or equivalent, plus 3 years related industry experienceii Must have Maintenance supervisory/delegating experienceii Bilingual: iEnglish/Spanish preferred.i Valid Drive License, clean criminal history and drug free.i Must be in good physical condition and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time.i Ability to demonstrate high ethical standards and set a positive example for crew members.i Current first aid/CPR certification, or ability and willingness to obtain one.ABILITIES REQUIRED:i Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.i Experience with 3-phase electricityi Welding experience preferredi Fleet maintenancei Basic concepts about greenhouse operations, quality and productivityi Good interpersonal communication, able to work well with othersi Manufacturing aptitude, Must be able to work as part of a teami Willingness to work weekends, hours will change based on business needsi Ability to tolerate exposure to greenhouse elements such as heat, cold, water and dirt.i Able to lift up to 40 lbs and able to stand for prolonged periods of timei Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision, Self motivatedi Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
