JOB TITLE: Sr. Oracle DBA
DEPARTMENT : Information Technology
Responsible for all aspects of Oracle database administration, including capacity planning, backup and recovery, configuration, and product upgrades.
Evaluate Oracle database patching requests, communicating issues, constraints, and timelines for deployment
Manage and work Oracle Service Requests (SR’s), applying patches and upgrades to Oracle databases.
Support Oracle database optimization, including performance tuning, query optimization, and supportability.
Provide technical input and expertise regarding multiple Oracle databases
Write technical documentation of system changes in conformance with department standards
Support change management including maintenance across multiple environments
Write technical design documents for the Oracle DBA team
Provide programming / technical support on-site or by phone as required for all shifts
Interface as a technical contact with Oracle support as it relates to solving Oracle service requests (SR’s).
Maintain awareness of technological developments in computer hardware and software systems, focusing on Oracle RDMBS
Provide timely and concise summaries of project status to manager
Communicates and applies project standards.
Consistently delivers high-quality services to the user community.
Plan and lead testing, implementation, training, support and documentation DBA activities for Oracle databases
Assist other DBA’s, both internal and external , through creation of technical documentation and review

/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/
Complete understanding of the Oracle RDBMS up through version 184.108.40.206
Technically fluent in applying patches, upgrades, and custom objects, as it relates to the Oracle database stack. Prior experience with Enterprise Application Integration tools and SOA based Applications and Architectures a plus.
Ability to clone, backup, and restore Oracle databases, and provide input on methods to optimize that process.
Ability to review technical documentation created by other DBA team members, and provide input to achieve an optimally performing system.
Deep technical understanding and technical capability with Oracle RDBMS. Experience writing and tuning complex queries.
Understanding of Oracle WebLogic
Technically fluent in the use of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Proficient in Linux, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Experience working on Oracle Databases that support high transaction ERP and WMS systems, such as JDA, preferred
