Project Manager - Architecture
Our Rochester, NY office is hiring an Architectural Project Manager to join our team! To apply for this position you have to be a licensed architect.
Purpose of Position:
To lead, oversee, supervise, and coordinate project activities for assigned projects involving unique or controversial complexities, through all phases
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:
Ensure the success of the projects (including planning, quality assurance, deadlines, and financial aspects/collections)
Handle all aspects of a project, including proposal, contract negotiation, project work plan (scope, schedule, budget, Quality Plan), and final agreement/contract in conjunction with the project team, including the quality reviewer
Provide leadership to individuals within and outside Bergmann
Plan, organize, and supervise the work and workload of project staff, which may include engineers, architects, designers and technicians
Prepare project budget with input and accountability from other project team staff
Monitor project costs to ensure that project is delivered within budget, fulfills customer expectations, maintains profitability, and/or aligns with the company strategic objectives
Manage the project budget including scope and change orders to new and existing clients
Market specific strategic objectives
Fulfill client manager role for clients in his/her own discipline and market for other disciplines
Get to know Bergmann current and potential clients and make connections between others at the organization.
Understand the client’s needs, short and long term strategies continually working towards becoming a trusted advisor.
Proactively keep client informed, suggesting next steps, ascertaining answers and solutions as needed and demonstrating integrity in all communications.
Mentor Assistant Project Managers on all aspects of project management
Review invoice charges for accuracy related to hours billed, coordinate customer billing and/or invoicing with Accounting Department, and follow up on outstanding invoices as needed
Prepare monthly financial reports (project percent complete, etc.)
Fulfill the role of Project Engineer/Architect/Planner/etc. as needed
Coordinate with other contractors and/or in-house and outside design professionals on project; obtain and coordinate resources from other disciplines as needed
May serve as primary client representative for Bergmann
May provide direct supervision to staff, including timesheet review, goal setting, evaluation and professional development
Education, Experience, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited university required, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
Eight or more years of experience in engineering, architecture, or related discipline as a licensed, registered or certified Project Engineer/Architect/Planner/etc.
Professional licensure, registration, or certification in related discipline preferred
Certification as Project Management Professional desired
Proficient in use and understanding of the appropriate CAD and/or applicable design software
Demonstrated previous experience in all phases of a project required
