University of Rochester Asst Professor in Rochester, New York
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry, in Rochester NY is seeking two surgical pathologists to join a vigorous academic department. Candidates must hold an MD or MD-PhD and have completed surgical pathology fellowship training. Candidates with subspecialty training in GI, GU and/or gyn pathology are especially encouraged to apply, though candidates with expertise in other anatomic pathology subspecialties, including cytology, will also be considered. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position will have an academic component, which may include laboratory based basic or translational research, or clinical research. The anticipated rank is open, commensurate with experience.
The University of Rochester Medical Center is a highly collegial environment with many opportunities for collaboration particularly with investigators in the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center. There is a very active oncologic service with expertise in many types of solid tumors. The successful candidate will actively participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors. The Wilmot Cancer Institute also has a strong research program that promotes collaboration in basic, translational and clinical programs for investigators.
