Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five to ten years related full-time professional experience in intercollegiate athletics at a Division I Institution. Demonstrated experience leading one or more of the student-athlete experience focused areas within a Division I Athletics Department including life skills, athletic medicine, strength and conditioning, athletic training, and nutrition and sports psychology. Work experience that demonstrates strong time management, written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Working knowledge of successful strategies to enhance and improve the student-athlete experience. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, administration, campus partners and community members. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team and motivate staff in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated support for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the university by the university’s insurance carrier.
Master’s degree or advanced professional degree. Senior leadership experience in NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics.

The Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Experience serves as a member of the department’s senior leadership team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through its strategic plan and vision. The fundamental responsibility of the position is to support and foster student-athlete excellence, health, safety and well-being. This position will collaborate with internal and external individuals and organizations to build relationships that will allow student-athletes to better fulfill their athletic, academic, and personal potential.
