Virginia State Government VWCC Adjunct Faculty: Electrical Technology in Roanoke, Virginia
Virginia Western, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for part-time, Electrical Technology adjunct faculty positions on a continuous basis.
Adjunct faculty positions are considered part-time and are appointed on an as needed course-by-course, semester basis. Responsibilities include teaching college-level courses, during the day and/or evening on weekdays and weekends, and may include distance learning courses. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education.

High school diploma or equivalent; associates or equivalent in electrical technology is preferred. Five years current occupational experience in electrical technology.
All Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to write syllabi and exams, as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
Minimum of Tradesmen or equivalent industry certifications. Experience using technology in the classroom. Experience teaching in a college setting; exp. at community college-level.
Applicants who have degrees earned from educational institutions located outside of the United States are required to have their transcripts evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service prior to applying for Faculty positions. If the transcripts are in a foreign language, applicants also need to have their transcripts translated prior to applying for job opportunities at Virginia Western.
Applicants who have foreign transcripts may submit a copy of their transcript attached to the original transcript evaluation. Applicants are responsible for the costs associated with translation/evaluation services.
Unofficial transcripts may be provided as part of the application process. However, official transcripts are required of the selected candidate.
