To support that meaningful work, we are currently seeking a highly qualified Reporting & Data Management Analyst to join our Human Resource (HR) Benefit- Controls and Compliance group in Richmond, VA.

You will conduct research and perform data analysis, reporting, and data management services within a highly outsourced environment. This includes handling interfaces between our company, Fidelity Investments, and other third-party suppliers.You will:

  • Manage interfaces between Altria, Fidelity Investments and other key partners and third-party suppliers to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.

  • Craft & implement audit plans to ensure the efficient and secure exchange of data with key suppliers

  • Lead the collection and analysis of data extracts to assist various benefit areas.

  • Handle risks associated with Altria’s benefits vendors and develop plans for management of any identified weaknesses. Including an annual review of SOC reports and development of management action plan for the report.

  • Identify improvements and develop related process changes/system enhancements as necessary

  • Coordinate with benefits vendors, other internal groups, and suppliers regarding system changes

  • Develop and execute test plans of systems changes impacting benefit plan administration

  • Build data query tools to assist with testing system functionality of employee benefits processing and compliance to plan requirements

  • Utilize data in various HR databases (MS Access, MS SQL Server, SAP, Ultimate software), using and maintaining macros developed in visual basic for applications (VBA) and developing complex spreadsheets

  • Gather/analyze utilization and performance of various components within our Total Rewards Program and create standard metrics for year-over-year trending (e.g., dashboard, ROI on benefit changes, etc.).

  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis

Specific Skills:You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 3-5 years of data management and analysis experience

  • Experience with Data Administration, as well as general IT controls background; preferably within the HR Benefits area

  • In-depth understanding of relationships between business processes, interfaces, and systems flows

  • Working knowledge of database application controls

  • Related Benefits, HR, Audit, Information management training or certification preferred (e.g. CEBS, CISA)

  • Benefits expertise and supplier management experience a plus

  • Demonstrable understanding of effective vendor management principles and practices

  • Collaboration & engagement, project planning & execution, communication, and critical thinking & financial acumen skills

  • Advanced knowledge of building spreadsheets and moderate knowledge working with database applications (e.g. MS Access, Microsoft SQL Server) or other data query tools Visio a plus

  • Working knowledge of HR Applications (including SAP and Ultimate Software).

  • Ability to travel to company facilities and on other company business as needed (estimated 15% or less of time)
