The primary function of this role is to support the accounting for the Heli-One global inventory pool, as well as to assist with maintenance of the inventory tracking system AMOS and ensure proper flow of information between AMOS and the M3 accounting system.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review inventory-related journal vouchers and reports

  • Reconcile inventory between AMOS and M3, and investigate & correct material variances

  • Understand and maintain the AMOS accounting rules for inventory transactions

  • Identify transactions and areas of operational process weakness that result in poor data quality or the potential for downstream accounting errors

  • Comply with established Company controls

  • Prepare periodic analysis of excess and obsolete inventory and book resulting provisions

  • Assist with special projects related to process improvement, data quality improvement, pool valuation, and changes in accounting estimates or policies

  • Create ad-hoc management reports related to inventory

  • Preparation of materials for the year-end audit

  • Identify process improvements in workbooks and closing procedures

  • Preparation of regulatory and statistical reporting

  • International travel may be required

  • Accounting-related maintenance of the AMOS system

  • May perform other duties, including assistance with general accounting matters, as assigned

  • Completion of a professional accounting designation or equivalent experience

  • A working knowledge of US GAAP (airline accounting knowledge an asset)

  • Experience in a multi-currency entity

  • Advanced Excel data-processing skills

  • Interest in systems and data analysis

  • Self-starter and independently resourceful

  • Ability to work cross functionally with members at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire and initiative to take on challenges and deliver results; a “can-do” attitude

  • Attention to detail and ability to perform self-review

  • Proactively identify issues, challenges, problems, and opportunities, as well as generate solutions and recommend and implement process improvements

  • Ability to obtain the required visas for business travel abroad
