Robert Half International Office Manager/Full Charge Bookkeeper in Reston, Virginia

We are presently working with a aesthetician and beauty school located in the NOVA area. We are looking specifically for an office manager who will report directly to the owner, as well as be her acting right hand man. In addition to office management duties, this individual will also be the full charge bookkeeper; tracking all finances, journal entries, student tuitions, etc. The Office Manager responsibilities will include: overseeing students up to 30 (can be 15-30). Needs someone who can get down and dirty/be hands on, but also be able to go into the office and handle the administrative functions of the job (managing staff, managing schedules/manpower, day to day operations, expenses, inventory, logistics, reporting etc.). Must have strong management experience, prioritization skills, communication skills, longevity, and technical skills. The bookkeeper responsibilities include:

  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.

  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.

  • Work with company accountant to balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.

  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions. Biggest personality need

Requirements

  • Must have min 5+ years office management and bookkeeping experience

  • Bachelors or Associates is preferred; tenure and job consistency is valued greatly

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Full cycle AP, AR

  • Payroll

  • Excel proficiency
