Job summary

The Red Hat Business team is looking for a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will guide Red Hat’s cross-portfolio initiative related to its cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) go-to-market strategy and offerings. You’ll need to be an experienced technical marketing professional, ideally with a background combining marketing, product marketing, product management, and business leadership. You should also have experience working at both a large company and a startup, getting personally involved in a project and scaling in a fast-growth environment, as well as solid knowledge of and direct experience with marketing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. You’ll lead using your persuasion, project management, and virtual team management skills. As a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will report directly to the Vice President of Portfolio Product Marketing. You’ll work across all business and engineering teams to take new and existing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings to market, including all areas of product launch and enablement. By connecting the right people and teams, establishing consistency across themes and channels, and managing a strategic plan, you will expand Red Hat’s visibility as a technology leader and accelerate our ability to market and sell our cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. Primary job responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-portfolio, cross-organizational effort to deliver a consistent end-to-end user experience and buyer’s journey across Red Hat’s cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) portfolio

  • Develop and implement an integrated product marketing plan that incorporates all relevant offerings and services; serve as a trusted partner, advisor and launch implementation subject matter expert for cross-functional stakeholders

  • Manage ongoing product marketing, sales tools, enablement, and collateral updates for the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and cloud offerings, closely collaborating with other product marketing and business leadership to ensure common go-to-market themes, sales enablement processes, and launches of our offerings

  • Take cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings from preview and beta stages to announce and availability stages, guiding all aspects of go-to-market business readiness across the Marketing team in partnership with the respective business teams and R&D leaders

  • Develop and manage messaging to increase demand, adoption, and continuous engagement for Red Hat’s cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) portfolio

  • Define persona-based buyer’s journeys to use as the foundation for campaigns, promotional opportunities, and educational and aspirational content

  • Partner with digital and user experience teams to deliver a compelling and engaging experience across discover, try, buy, and use phases

  • Guide and deliver thought leadership in bringing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings to market, translating our vision and differentiation into compelling communication for each audience; enable other teams to carry our story into the market globally

  • Measure, track, and analyze sales, adoption, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) engagement of our offerings to inform product and marketing strategies and tactics

  • Be the voice of the customer and market to the business, product management, and engineering teams

  • Guide product enablement, working closely with enablement and readiness teams to ensure that the field teams and partners fully understand our competitive differentiation, business model, and go-to-market strategy

  • Speak and present, both internally and externally, in settings like webinars, conferences, and events

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, computer science, engineering or other related field

  • 10+ years of relevant product marketing experience with increasing responsibility; significant amount of this experience should include work in both early-stage private company environments as well as in a publicly traded company

  • 10+ years of software industry experience overall and at least one direct product marketing experience with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering

  • Good understanding of and experience with cloud and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business models, marketing strategies, user experience, and engagement metrics

  • Proven success dealing with complexity at a global level across multiple channels and offerings with regard to multiple competitors and partners and broadly with the market as a whole

  • Demonstrated ability to create excellent sales tools and educate a global sales force

  • Solid creative and content creation talents; capable of shaping product marketing strategy and delivering compelling content that promotes awareness, thought leadership, and demand

  • Excellent messaging and positioning capabilities

  • Record of working with analysts, press, partners, and other influencer communities

  • Skilled at researching, evaluating, and presenting market and customer requirements, competitive situations, and overall market trends to business and technical stakeholders

  • Proven record of success in a fast-moving, technical environment

  • Good communication skills in written, verbal, and presentation form

  • Solid technical knowledge; ability to explain customer requirements and use cases to engineering teams

  • Willingness to travel at least 25 percent, including international travel
