Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join us in the Cleveland metropolitan area. In this role, you will be assigned specific accounts and you'll build long-lasting relationships and expand our business. You'll oversee all aspects of sales, including price negotiations, contract development, and order fulfillment. As a Sales Account Manager, you will gain understanding of customer business and technology environments and suggest solutions from the Red Hat portfolio to provide competitive advantage. You’ll collaborate with partner sales and services teams and IT and business executives to ensure the delivery and sales of Red Hat's solutions.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Sell Red Hat's solutions and services within your assigned territory

  • Create strategic and tactical plans for new business development and guide the extended salesteam to maximize revenue and growth; meet performance and sales goals

  • Call on prospective customers, providing technical and administrative information, demonstrations, and price quotes for our offerings

  • Forecast and close sales in line with company goals

  • Understand customer business and technology solutions needs and communicate them toexecutives

  • Meet assigned sales quotas by acquiring new customer accounts and renewing and growingexisting relationships

Required skills

  • 5+ years of sales management experience with a demonstrated record of success, preferably inthe software or IT industry

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a technical discipline

  • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple solutions and services

  • Sales experience with cloud, virtualization, middleware, and emerging technologies

  • Solid understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing

  • Ability to work as part of a virtual sales team while demonstrating flexibility and initiative

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
