LinkedIn Glint, Senior Technical Program Manager in Redwood City, California

The Glint team at LinkedIn is looking for a senior level Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team and drive product program management functions.

The Glint TPM role is highly diversified and includes initiating, planning and executing intermediate to large scale, cross-functional and company-wide programs. Successful candidates will have a solid track record of program and project management and will have demonstrated excellent leadership, along with superior organizational and communication skills in leading teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills, and can execute and deliver successfully in situations where authority is not a given. Interaction and leadership across functional lines are essential. In addition, the right candidate will possess superior business strategy sense, product intuition, and technical understanding to fully integrate with product development teams and contribute at any level of depth. This position will report into the product organization at Glint.

Responsibilities:

  • Support multiple cross-functional technical teams to deliver their objectives in fast-paced and complex programs and projects

  • Develop strong partnerships with engineering and product management leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical program objectives

  • Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure program success

  • Own and manage teams and individuals in planning and executing roadmaps, releases, and team work backlogs

  • Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths

  • Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, be the adaptive problem solver

  • Help execute process around product content management and delivery

  • Provide reporting as necessary on portfolio health, project status, risks, issues and mitigation plans

  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters shared understanding, transparency, mastery, autonomy, innovation and continuous learning

  • Coach and mentor others in best practices of modern planning and execution

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of full-time technical program management experience within an engineering or technical team

  • B.S. degree or equivalent, in a technical field

  • Direct work experience in a technical project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Experience in technical program management driving and launching development projects is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing multiple major and concurrent programs executed through multiple geographic locations

  • Direct experience working with product management, software engineering leadership, technical teams and individual contributors

  • Product and business sense or practical product management experience

  • Sense for design, user experience, and product aesthetic

  • Experience in key stakeholder and cross-functional communications

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments

  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies

  • Agile coaching and practitioner experience (Scrum, Kanban) with multiple teams

  • Experience in building all phases of end-to-end product development

  • Knowledge of Internet client/server social networking applications and systems

  • 2+ years of hands-on software development experience a plus
