We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual to manage and grow a team

of

highly skilled engineers focused on creating and improving the OS

Management Service running in the Cloud. You would be working with a

distributed team and will have ownership of the deployed service.

Responsibilities


Architecture and design: create and improve current service deployment

infrastructure using the latest cloud computing techniques to improve

agility, reliability, and observability.

  • Ownership: understand internal devops processes end-to-end in order to streamline CI/CD pipelines.

Implementation: enhance service to address customer needs in a manner

that is secure and leverages the latest cloud capabilities.


Troubleshooting: have a deep understanding of system management and the

service in order to respond quickly and efficiently to major incidents

and minimize/restore service disruptions when they occur.

  • Root cause issues so that improvements can be made.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • BS degree in CS, EE, or equivalent

  • 5 years running distributed services in production on Linux at scale

  • 5 years of experience managing a distributed team

  • Strong experience with systems management

  • Strong background in devops practices

  • Strong technical background in Linux, Virtualization, Cloud (AWS, Azure)

  • Strong technical background in cloud networking, storage, and security

  • Strong technical knowledge of Kubernetes

  • Strong technical knowledge of monitoring and building dashboards (e.g. Kibana, Grafana, etc)

  • Experience with Linux distros, open source, github, jenkins, REST APIs

  • Experience with service mesh technologies

  • Experience with the Oracle Database is a plus

  • Experience with Windows system management is a strong plus

  • Languages: Java, Python, bash

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Handles hard problems with a positive "can do" attitude

  • Team player and able to work with others all skill levels

  • Ability to mentor individual team members to success, both individually and as collaborative team

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
