Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The mission of Customer Security & Trust (CST) is delivering security capabilities and solutions to protect our customers and promote global trust in Microsoft. Customer Security & Trust Engineering (CST-E) is comprised of 6 teams with over 100 FTEs and vendors delivering engineering solutions to proactively fight cybercrime in support of Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit (DCU), support law enforcement through enabling Microsoft’s response to over 60,000 subpoena and warrant requests per year, lead corporate-wide security development lifecycle governance, provides tools and evidence for customers to trust Microsoft products and services while ensuring cultural relevance, and providing thought leadership for securing the use of technologies such as Open Source Software, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

This includes monitoring our services for digital content that violates legal obligations and our policies so we can quickly review and respond. The Digital Content Engineering (DCE) team works with Digital Safety and Global Readiness to deliver technical solutions that address the legal and corporate obligations associated with those services. Our team has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to help deliver great engineering tools and systems.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work in a cross-discipline, agile-based development environment while delivering maximum innovation and impact for Digital Safety and Global Readiness solutions

  • Create and support partners and product owners through meaningful contribution to designs, features, experiences & solutions

  • Design, develop, test & support existing tools and solutions with a focus on modernization and ease of integration into cross-company engineering systems

  • Fully engage in agile-based software development model

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A CS degree or equivalent work experience demonstrating an expertise in software development

  • 3+ years of practical experience developing software

  • Full stack developer with experience in Object Oriented technologies, RESTful APIs, webservices/JavaScript, .NET Core, C#/Java, and/or database technologies

  • Experience with Cloud development methodologies - Azure experience preferred

  • Curiosity with a desire to continuously learn and collaborate to improve yourself and your teammates

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, adapt and prioritize in fast paced environment

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment for iterative releases

  • Experience building reliable, scalable and secure services

  • Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage or similar distributed storage technology

  • Working knowledge of modern engineering best practices, including mock unit testing, automated testing, continuous integration and deployment
