Job DescriptionMaintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others.Manages assigned work areas (flower and patient mail delivery, Volunteer Services office receptionists, Volunteer Workroom, patient care floaters, Waiting Rooms, Patient Escort, etc.) including developing processes; maintaining supplies; and training, scheduling and providing direct supervision of assigned volunteers.Oversees development and implementation of programs for college and high school students.Educates staff in the appropriate ways to train, manage and recognize their volunteers.Maintains appropriate volunteer personnel records and reports of services provided.Prepares manuals, handbooks and guides covering policies, programs and procedures.Interviews, screens, and assigns volunteer applicants. Responsibilities include assuring appropriate criminal background checks, drug screening and health screenings completed, scheduling training, and appraising performance.Mediates performance problems and issues as requested by volunteer supervisors.Evaluates volunteers performance using formal and informal tools, procedures and methods.Conducts training and orientation of volunteers. Initiates and manages volunteer recruitment programs for volunteens and college programs.Maintains brochures and website information on the volunteer program.Visits or calls volunteers in their assigned areas to ensure satisfaction with assigned area.Plans events and programs to recognize volunteers.Qualifications

Experience: Two years experience in volunteer management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.Education: Bachelor's degreeLicensure: Preferred certification in volunteer management. If not held, highly recommend becoming certified within the first three years of employment.
