Essential Job Duties:

Cashier responsibilities will include:

  • Providing cashiering support for all student account payments and deposits from on-campus departments

  • Processing student payments, departmental deposits and corporate payments and releasing holds

  • Scanning all checks and keeping a daily log

  • Processing all monies received from armored car vendor and preparing bank deposits

  • Providing back up support for armored car process

  • Balancing all work via daily balance and master balance sheets

  • Responding to walk-in customers, telephone inquiries, and returning calls when necessary

  • Handling research on student accounts, departmental depositors, and external banking agencies to resolve issues.

Other Work/Responsibilities:

  • Attend at least one professional development training class per year.

  • Provide back up support to student financial services representatives during peak periods.

Minimum Experience/Education:

High school diploma or equivalency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a professional, cordial, and professional customer service attitude

  • Willingness to learn

  • Ability to follow policy and procedure, to think critically, and work well in a team environment

  • Experience handling cash transactions

  • Ability and flexibility to work in a fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer experience working in a university cashier office setting.
