Pfizer Legal Director in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong
This individual will serve as Legal Director for Hong Kong and Macau. In addition to supporting Hong Kong and Macau, the successful candidate for this role will be dedicating half of the time to support Pfizer Biopharma operations in China as directed by the Legal Lead for China. The individual will be employed by Pfizer Hong Kong (the "Company") and will be located in Hong Kong and will directly report to the Emerging North Asia Cluster Legal Lead with the dotted line to the China Legal Lead.
Provides innovative, business solution oriented legal counsel and advice to the country management team, including those with significant enterprise level impact using a high level of business knowledge and understanding of the external environment.
Actively participates as a key member of Hong Kong Leadership Team.
Provides analysis of legal risks relating to various issues that arise during the day-to-day operation of Hong Kong, Macau and China businesses and recommend business alternatives.
Manages a wide variety of projects arising in Hong Kong, Macau and China in coordination various cross-functional teams (including, but not limited to, Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, Health & Value, Medical, Supply Chain).
Manages any disputes, litigations and any regulatory inquiries involving Hong Kong, Macau and China businesses.
Aligns with relevant Emerging Markets country attorneys and/or above market colleagues to provide effective, commercially-oriented advice, while identifying & addressing exposure to risk. Manages the matrix and maintains an open and regular dialogue with countries in the region to ensure consistent legal support.
Proactively advises the North Asia Cluster Legal Lead/China Legal Lead and other relevant legal colleagues on market issues that require escalation.
Accountable for ensuring optimal business and country-specific legal support for Hong Kong, Macau and China.
Helps manage the legal budget for Hong Kong and Macau, monitoring expenditure to ensure services are cost effective and within agreed budgetary constraints.
Stays current on legislative changes, global healthcare trends and other environmental issues related to the development, marketing and sale of pharmaceuticals and ensures that lawyers and clients are educated and informed about relevant legal issues and principles in order to pre-empt problems.
Acts as a powerful advocate for clients while championing the interests of the Pfizer enterprise.

Licensed to practice law in Hong Kong and/or China
Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Chinese language (both Cantonese and Mandarin) skill highly preferred.
Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships, build credibility and successfully influence leadership in a fast paced business climate.
Strategic and proactive. Anticipates needs and able to prioritize quickly.
Role model for open/clear communication and interpersonal skills at all levels in the company.
Possesses a high energy level, sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, and ability to work well independently or in a team and under pressure.
