Job Purpose:

Senior Business Analyst on the team to work in technology group dealing with capital, collateral and liquidity management, involving extensive business and data analysis, process analysis, ad-hoc reporting. Preferably experienced in banking and financial industry. Candidates with good skills from other industry could also be considered. This is a multi-year initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to collaborate between multiple front, middle and back office applications, documenting trends and tying the operations view to the finance books and records view. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL will be required for data extraction and model building

  • Ability to create presentations for senior management documenting the vision and current project status

  • Holding requirement gathering sessions, gaining consensus and creation of meeting minutes

  • Creation of Business requirement documents and document processes and flows where necessary

  • Understanding of business processes, gaps in capabilities, as well as appropriate data sources, interfaces and process changes required to address the gaps

  • Developing detailed requirements, working through solutions and managing execution and rollout of these solutions, in the context of an overall consistent global platform

  • Validation that the application meets the project specifications and client’s expectations

The role is expected to work closely with:

  • Other team members, predominantly in Pune, London, and Shanghai to ensure a coherent and robust solution environment

  • The business users to ensure the business needs are known, understood and that the solution devised will properly meet their requirements

  • Other interfaced systems which are required for the overall front to back processes, to align strategic initiatives into the technical roadmap and implementation

This is a pivotal role for the successful delivery of requirements for Citi’s finance resource management, primarily dealing with Capital and Collateral and therefore serve the Markets businesses & ICG Treasury across asset classes. The successful candidate will need to be a polite and warm with hands-on experience, capable of working directly with business users in the regions. The role will need work with the core technical team in New York, Pune and Shanghai teams to ensure requirements and needs of the regions are successfully incorporated in the global solutions.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 5+ yrs of overall IT/Finance experience

  • Strong knowledge of database fundamentals, ability to write sqls and understand results

  • Ability to observe patterns and understand workflows

  • Ability to communicate and write effective BRDs and User Guides defining the product

  • Extensive SDLC experience, in particular experienced in agile project delivery

  • Ability to make persuading presentations

  • Extensive use of Excel for data analysis

  • Extensive experience of business analysis, preferable but not mandatory, in capital markets

  • Experienced with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle

  • Good Understanding of financial markets and functioning a plus

  • Modest with an ability to work collaborate and work in tight deadlines to deliver. IT Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Project), SQL

  • Highly motivated, compassionate and dependable candidate with strong problem solving skills, with the ability to multitask and able to work with diverse team members, with polite and honest verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science will be a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or equivalent

  • MBA / ACCA / CA / CAIA / CFA / CIMA
