Equity Technology


Perform analysis for the Equities Trade Data Services Group - specifically within the Equities TDS RIO Governance team, working on the RIO (FIX) messaging standard and specifications as they affect publishers and subscribers. This role will provide data governance, business analysis, flow analysis and ensure quality of all data feeding into the strategic global data warehouse, report and facilitate issue resolution.

Data is an important asset; acknowledged across all industries. Data Quality has been defined as Must Win Battle for Equities Group. TDS Team owns this function and this role will be working on thus Must Win Battle

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a proven background in business analysis, system design, stakeholder management, and project coordination. Also, the ideal candidate will have an understanding of all related equity products, strong influencing skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Furthermore, the candidate will act as a point of contact between the Businesses, IT, Test and Support teams throughout the entire project lifecycle. Working closely with business representatives, the role will be to elicit business requirements, find solutions to business problems, design business processes and IT specifications to support the business goals, and manage user acceptance testing and training.

The candidate should have the ability to work on multiple projects at any given time.

Position Responsibilities

•Analyze business requirements and prepare data model (when needed) and application design

•Analyze various data flows coming from Citi capital markets Equities trading applications, familiarity with business, compliance reporting requirements and impact of data quality on these reports

•Conduct data analysis and data quality mining/investigations, produce data quality metrics.

•Ensure that application design from Data flow point is aligned to the requirements

•Act as a contact between the business users and technology team(s)

•Develop Subject Matter Expertise on business processes and technologies

•Participate in the planning, execution and validation of system, regression and user acceptance testing where necessary

•Extract and generate data feed specific to use cases, to support data quality analysis and to serve urgent business delivery needs


Required Skills and Abilities

•Mandatory- Experience in Equities Trading Flows, proficient cross- equities domain knowledge

•Strong SQL experience, programming skills specific to data analysis and adhoc data extraction

•Solid understanding of FIX, Knowledge of security, market data and reference data

•Experience in client facing business management roles. Experience on running workshops with business and technology stakeholders

•Proven Track record as business analyst performing requirements definition, functional design, preparation of test scripts, and implementation;

•Preferable -Experience in message oriented/message driven applications and architectures

•Excellent analytical and process-based skills, i.e. process flow diagrams, business modelling, and functional design;

•Experience in order management systems

•Familiarity with Listed Derivatives, Future/Options will be a plus

•Proficient in using MS Excel to manipulate data and derive conclusions

•Ability to own delivery/reported issues to completion.

•Right attitude to gel well with the technology team locally/globally

•The candidate should have the ability to work on multiple projects at any given time

•Awareness of Project Management tools such as MS Project, Collabnet (Team forge)

•Willingness to work in fast moving environment and deliver solid technical solutions

Business Skills and Experience

•8 to 14 years in the financial industry working on Equity related Systems, with minimum 5+ years’ experience as Business/Data Analyst

•A sound knowledge on the various business processes, regulatory reporting and trade flows in Equities business

•The candidate is expected to be dynamic, flexible with a high energy level as this is a demanding and rapidly changing environment

•The job requires frequent interaction with senior technology managers and business heads, and therefore requires that the candidate is confident and presents ideas clearly

•Since the environment is ever changing, thoroughness and organization is expected, as well as sound judgment

•This is a high-pressured job that requires patience, diplomacy and an ability to withstand pressure
