Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage primary market research projects that focus on in-line products across different therapeutic areas. Responsibilities include: 1) development of the agency briefing document, 2) agency selection, 3) selection of methodology and appropriate technique to determine samples, 4) supervision of the fieldwork, 5) guides as well as performs the analysis and interpretation of statistical analyses, 6) derives clear recommendations from the study to assist business decision-making;

  • Manage secondary market data, including needs assessment and subscription. Provide regular report and updates on market evolution and competitor performance to commercial management team;

  • Manage demand forecast and long-range forecast for in-license products/portfolio;

  • Provide routine and ad hoc business analytics supports by integrating both internal and external data, e.g. monthly/QTR brand report, brand planning and business reviews;

  • Support strategic planning by leveraging market research insights, existing data source and desk research findings;

  • Work with the marketing team to establish annual research plan based on business priorities within function budget;

  • Drive key commercial operations projects: Provides planning, leadership and focus to manage deliverables, schedule, scope, and objective within the commercial organization with significant business impact;

  • Demonstrate judgment and integrity in accordance with the highest ethical and compliance standards, including Gilead’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements such as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Chinese laws.

Knowledge, experience and Skills:

  • Solid experience in pharmaceutical industry on both primary and secondary research;

  • Advanced and proven forecasting skills;

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, innovative approaches to issues, and sound judgment;

  • Comprehensive knowledge of audits, questionnaire design (to elicit qualitative and quantitative results without introducing bias) and data analysis including statistical know-how;

  • Strong project management skills and good cross-functional communication;

  • Shows integrity, tenacity, resilience and adaptability in complex situations and an often changing environment;

  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written);

  • Advance degree is preferred (MS, MBA or statistics).
