Kelly Services Research Associate in Portland, Oregon

Kelly Scientific Resources currently has a temp to hire opportunity for a Research Associate with a medical device company in Portland, OR. Candidates with experience in chemistry or chemical engineering research development are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts benchtop experiments (Medical device development testing, material characterization and material preparation) to support New Product Introductions, Failure-Mode Analysis and projects/studies as needed to support company growth

  • Assists in preparation of study plans

  • Executes studies, records data in laboratory notebooks, and prepares technical reports.

  • Reads and understand company SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to conduct development and testing work within established procedures for Design Control

  • Maintains and updates product specifications when required

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a Can-Do attitude

  • Familiar with basic analytical instrumentation, testing equipment and lab-scale formulation equipment

  • Ability to effectively prioritize work load and tasks to effectively meet established deadlines

  • Strong computer skills and ability to write technical reports and summarize experimental data

Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • B.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related scientific discipline or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 years in an industry position with R&D laboratory experience

  • Minimum 3 years in a medical device company or other FDA regulated industry preferred
