Pape-Dawson Engineers Instrument Operator - Land Surveying in Plano, Texas

This position is a member of a three person crew that assists in the completion of land surveying projects as directed by the Survey Department Manager and Party Chief.

  • Load and unload surveying supplies and surveying equipment in the Survey vehicles daily

  • Operate surveying instruments such as data collectors, robotic Total Stations, and GPS-RTK Receivers

  • Conduct field work to ascertain the location of natural features and man-made structures on land surface, using equipment and other surveying instruments

  • Record survey measurements and descriptive data using electronic distance measuring equipment

  • Conduct construction staking for layout of streets, drains, lots, and utilities using surveying equipment

  • Maintain equipment and vehicles

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent

  • 3 years' previous experience in a similar land surveying role

  • Ability to analyze spatial and technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications

  • Operate land or site surveying instruments

  • Obtain land survey data using surveying instruments

  • Effective communication oral and written communication skills with all level of employees in an organization

  • Must be able to work between the hours of 6 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday

  • Must be dependable and reliable
